Hypoxic Brain Injury: Overcoming Cognitive & Movement Deficits

A devastating condition, hypoxic ischemic brain injury (HI-BI) is the result of a lack of oxygen to the brain and can cause long-term neurologic impairments, including movement disorders and cognitive deficits. Causes of injury include stroke, head trauma, respiratory and cardiac arrest. Severity of hypoxic brain injury ranges, but individuals may benefit from rehabilitation therapies such as cognitive therapy and physical therapy.

Join us for this 60-minute webinar where you will:

  1. Discover mechanisms and pathophysiology associated with HI-BI
  2. Identify common movement disorders of HI-BI and appropriate rehabilitation management
  3. Describe common cognitive impairments associated with HI-BI and recommended treatment strategies
  4. Explore the importance of an interdisciplinary team in working with individuals with HI-BI

The 1 hour presentation will include 1.0 CEU credit for CCMC, CRC and NASW.
