Daisy Kwakye, M.S., CCC-SLP

Daisy Kwakye earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorder from William Paterson University in 2018 and her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from William Paterson University in 2020. She completed her clinical fellowship year at JFK Medical Center in Florida in 2020, where she worked in acute inpatient and outpatient settings providing diagnostic and treatment services to patients with complex medical needs including neurological and swallowing rehabilitation. Daisy has experience with the following specialized populations: neurodegenerative populations (Parkinson’s disease & Alzheimer’s disease), neuromuscular disorders (ALS & MS), stroke, TBI, craniectomy/craniotomy, right-side neglect, anterior cervical discectomy fusion (ACDF), cerebral palsy, down syndrome, head and neck cancer, tracheostomy, and respiratory diseases/illness. Daisy is competent in administering and interpreting Modified Barium Swallow Studies, in order to make specific diet recommendations and develop patient-specific treatment plans. Daisy values a patient-centered approach and collaborates closely with patient, family, and the interdisciplinary team to design evidence-based treatment plans to progress patients toward their functional goals. In addition to her full-time work at Bancroft NeuroRehab Plainsboro, where she provides services to the residential and community outpatient neurological population, Daisy works per diem for Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center, providing therapeutic intervention to acute inpatient and acute rehabilitation. Daisy is working toward certification in SPEAK OUT! & LOUD Crowd Training to address the motor speech deficits associated with Parkinsonism.
